St. Paul, Minn. (April 29, 2019) — Owens Companies President, John Owens, has launched a Corporate Challenge to support the fundraising efforts of the North Star Grand Prix. John Owens has been an advocate for the event and has opened his home to host athletes from around the world while they were competing at the North Star Grand Prix. As a family-owned Twin Cities-based company, the Owens Companies value the Minnesota community and the events which enrich the lives of the community members. In the midst of the ongoing crowdfunding and sponsorship efforts, Owens approached the event organizers and offered to launch a corporate challenge in support of the North Star Grand Prix.
“The Twin Cities area is our home, it’s our neighborhood,” said Owens Companies President John Owens. “And events like the North Star Grand Prix benefit this entire community. We’re proud to support this event, and we challenge all companies in the area to join us in our support.”
Built from the generosity of the Owens Companies, the three-day North Star Grand Prix, slated for June 14-16, 2019, will feature a three-tiered Corporate Challenge. It is the hope of Owens Companies and the North Star Grand Prix that this corporate challenge will allow the 2019 event to ‘Bring the World to Minnesota’. Corporations are encouraged to contribute at the Bronze, Silver or Gold level so that the North Star Grand Prix can raise the necessary support for 2019.
“John Owens has been a friend of the event and we were honored when he approached us with this idea,” said Race Director Brendon Hale. “We have received great support from the Minnesota community, but we know that great communities and great community events need the support of area corporations.
We are honored that the family-owned Twin Cities-based Owens Companies has initiated this corporate challenge.”
